Tips for Eating Keto or Low-Carb at Magic Kingdom
Calling all low-carb and Keto-eating friends! I’ve been on a low-carb diet for a couple of years now and also a local to Orlando. I know how difficult it is to find something good to eat at Disney World while on a diet. It can feel downright impossible sometimes! There are plenty of Keto-ish snacks and meals you can find at the theme parks. That said, you may need to do some planning if you want to stay strictly on your diet. I’ve got plenty of tips if you don’t want to stray into the temptation of Mickey waffles.
This article is all about the Magic Kingdom and some of the best low-carb items you can find there. Note that I’m using “low-carb” instead of “Keto.” These snacks are a great choice if you don’t want to overload on carbs. They may not be strictly Keto, however. They might be “Dirty Keto” or “Keto-ish.” You can always ask to speak with the Chef if you’re diet is very specific to Keto.
Ok, enough nonsense. Let’s eat!
Main Street Bakery (Starbucks)
Coffee Drinkers and Tea-Sippers rejoice! There’s a REAL Starbucks at all four theme parks in Disney World. Yes, a fully-functional Starbucks with actual Baristas who can take your custom order. Need coffee with Stevia? They got you, Boo!
The Starbucks locations are under pseudonyms to blend with the atmosphere. You can find the Magic Kingdom Starbucks on Main Street under the secret code name: Main Street Bakery.
For the sake of Keto Camaraderie, here are three of my favorite low-carb drinks to order at Disney World.
Morning Buzz Cinnamon espresso
- Grande Cup
- Three Shots of Espresso
- Over Ice
- Splash of Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2 Pumps of Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce
Bonus Tip! Carry in a bottle of Cinnamon Roll Premier Protein Shake and add it to your iced coffee. It’s a deliciously divine way to start your Magic Morning! Order the drink in a Venti Cup so you can enjoy more of your protein shake.
Blended Blackberry Dessert
- Venti Cup
- Half & Half or Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 Scoop of Blackberries
- 2 Packets of Stevia with Monk Fruit
- 2 Pumps of Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
- No Water
- Blended with Whipped Cream
A perfect dessert drink that’s easy on the sugar but still satisfies the sweet tooth. I love the added touch of blackberries and the blended texture makes it taste like a light smoothie!
Rainy Day Chai Latte
- Grande Cup
- Light Splash of Heavy Cream
- 1 Stevia in the Raw
- 2 Pumps of Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
- 1 Pump of Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce Syrup
- Light Cinnamon Powder
Believe it or not, it can get chilly in Florida! You might want to snuggle up with a warm Latte or a hot tea on those rare wintry days. I love this tea alternative when I’m not feeling like a cup of coffee.
One disappointing thing to note: The theme parks don’t serve the Sous Vide Egg Bites that many Keto-ites adore. I sincerely hope this changes in the future but for now, we’re mourning our morning egg bites!

Liberty Square Market
Fruits, veggies, cheese, and pickles galore! The Liberty Square Market is your stop for quick snacks that are fairly healthy and relatively low-carb. The snack stand is full of fresh produce for something light. And, it’s usually stocked with those little Babybel Cheeses that can cure a Snack Attack. (Avoid looking directly at the Mickey Pretzels. They will try to tempt you with their wicked ways!)
The market is also home to a very famous Keto snack: the Jumbo Turkey Leg. This snack is more like a meal. Or maybe, this meal is more like a snack. Either way, the name doesn’t disappoint. It is indeed a JUMBO Turkey Leg. It’s a huge portion of smoked meat that weighs as much as a newborn baby. It’s a great option if you’re hankering for some protein and want a large portion. It’s absolutely shareable and comes packed with smokey flavor. Also, it tastes great with some mustard to balance the smokiness.
See my full-review of the Turkey Leg, Chicken Nachos, and more on YouTube here!
Don’t like smokey, greasy meat? I advise avoiding this snack. It’s definitely greasy and can make some people feel queasy if they’re not used to it.
The added bonus is that it makes you feel like you’ve been transported to the Medieval Times when we gnawed on giant meat sticks.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe & Cosmic Ray’s Cafe
Once upon a time, Pecos Bill and Cosmic Ray’s Cafe had “Topping Bars” that allowed you to pile on as many extras as you wanted. Both of these quick-service restaurants were havens for people attempting to eat healthily.
At Pecos Bill, people ordered the Chicken or Beef Nachos then loaded it with lettuce, salsa, and sour cream. (You could avoid eating the chips and delight in all the toppings and queso!) At Cosmic Ray’s, you could order a burger, take off the bun, and pile on tons of onions, tomatoes, and other goodies.
As of this writing, the Topping Bars are closed for health and safety reasons. There’s no telling when they might make a return. However, both places are still good choices for low-carb meals and I’ll tell you why…
The good news is, you can still order a bunch of toppings. You have less control over the portion but you can always ask the Cast Member for more if you need it. I also advise ordering a side of guacamole for your nachos so you can have some more substance.
Even when I avoid eating the chips, I feel full when ordering the nachos with chicken and adding all the goodies!
P.S. For the past few years, Pecos Bill has served a dish called Hades Nachos during Halloween. I adore the Spicy Buffalo Chicken mix and I recommend trying them out if they’re on the menu! I loved this snack so much that I recreated it if you want to make it at home. Pair it with the veggies of your choice for a spooky Keto snack!
Hades Nachos are the yummiest (and spookiest!) snack of all!
Pinocchio’s Village Haus
You may be in the mood for a fresh salad with a view. That’s where Pinocchio’s Village Haus comes in handy. There’s one item on the menu that many dieters tend to love. The Antipasto Salad comes with mixed greens, tomatoes, diced cucumber, red onion, salami, provolone, diced ham, and tossed with Italian Dressing.
This isn’t your regular House Salad with a few cherry tomatoes thrown on iceberg lettuce. The salad is unique to Pinocchio’s and has enough toppings to tie you over until dinner. Plus, you get an excellent bird’s-eye view of “it’s a small world.” Munch on some salami and wave to the passengers below!
Table Service Restaurants
I’m lumping all three Table Service Restaurants into one category because the menus change fairly often. Although, I do have a few suggestions and tips for eating Keto at a sit-down restaurant. First, you can usually rely on steak being on the menu. (You can be sure by checking the menus on the official Disney World website.) The steak may be served with potatoes but you can ask your Server if they have suggested substitutes. Most of the time, you can sub a salad or steamed veggies for french fries.
As of right now, there are a few promising options at each Table Service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant currently has two salads and a Roman-style Steak on the menu. (I was told by a guest they ordered the Chicken Alfredo Linguini and had broccoli replace the pasta!) Be Our Guest has an awesome charcuterie plate, Filet Mignon, and Pork Tenderloin available for dinner. Lastly, Skipper Canteen has a Jungle Green Salad and a Signature Grilled Steak.
More Keto Options for Your Magical Vacation
You may notice that Disney World isn’t exactly made for low-carb diets. Most items are packed with bread, rice, or sugar. I highly suggest you take in some snacks if you’re on a strict diet. You can opt to have Amazon or Shipt deliver some of your favorite essentials to your hotel.
There’s also a great local grocery store in Florida called Aldi. This is where I buy Keto bread and will bring it into the parks if I want some bread with my burgers. Also, I love The Bulk Pantry. This local bakery serves all Keto-friendly snacks and desserts. They even do deliveries to your hotel!
